Project S.H.A.R.E. in the Niagara Region is an ‘acronym for: ‘Support, Housing, Awareness, Resources‘ and Emergency. Project S.H.A.R.E. (1991) was developed as a non – profit charitable organization in response to an increased demand for emergency services. Residents of Niagara Falls are eligible who are living on or below the poverty line as stipulated by Statistics Canada. The programs are designed to create positive, proactive alternatives in order that people can help themselves and their families in times of crisis.’

During the November registration for families in need living below the poverty line they saw a 15 percent increase this year over last due to the economic times we faced in 2009. The St. Catherines- Niagara region was hard hit with unemployment rate at 10.1 percent in recent stats.

Every region supports giving back to the community with toy drives, donation drop offs, Salvation Army Kettles and Toy boxes or concerts where you can bring an unwrapped toy and in turn for your donation have a chance to win great prize giveaways. Wherever you live and whatever you give, you can put an added smile on your face Christmas morning knowing you gave a child in your community one that day.

Please help, food and toy donations are needed more now then ever, along with need for volunteers if you can afford please get on board, you never know when it will be you one day who will need that kindness given in return.
