Good Day Eh! Coo Loo coo coo coo coo coo coo coming to you from the Great White North and Damn proud to be Canadian.

Wow what a great 2010 Olympics for Canada, congratulations to all the athletes from around the world we hope you had an awesome stay in the country we’re proud everyday to call home.

It was an amazing Olympics all around as Canada broke records with most gold medals won in the Olympics on home soil, or snow, whichever way you want to refer to Canada.

Canada didn’t just come out on top with gold medal wins, we had so much to be proud of especially as a Canadian woman in 2010, our women athletes won 14 of the 26 Olympic medals for Canada and that is golden girls.

How about the Canada/U.S. Men’s Hockey yesterday, wow that was tense, tense probably couldn’t even describe the feeling going through every Canadian holding their heads, jumping around, screaming at the T.V. and the many tears that flowed in the last 24 secs of that game when the U.S. tied it up, and I thought the Canada/Slovakia game was a nail biter, I couldn’t watch the last 4 minutes of either game as I turned my head and walked out of the room only to hear what was happening.

When I heard “Oh Shit, they scored” come out of Ron’s mouth at the last 24 seconds my stomach felt like it had just been kicked, every Canadian feeling that same ill feeling at that moment, but like true Canuck boys, they pulled through with one of Canada’s favourite Maritime hockey players, # 87, Sidney Crosby.

Sunday’s game wasn’t just about winning the gold, but a Canadian need to show the world who owns the ‘truth’ about hockey, but as it turned out final game between Canada and the U.S. didn’t show that at all, with the game as close as it was I’d say Canada and United States go neck in neck in the hockey arena for the best of the best in both countries. This wasn’t just about the gold, no way, especially to Leaf Fans, this was about the NHL, it was about Brian Burke and Ron Wilson and the terrible record loss of the Leafs yet again this year, it was about good old fashion war of country against country except only some ego’s got hurt in this war, no death required.

To top it off just to make it as Canadian as Canadian could be, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and President Barack Obama made a friendly wager with of course, what else, a case of beer as the prize. If the U.S. won, Prime Minster Harper was to give President Obama a case from our oldest brewery Molson’s and if Canada won, which we did, President Obama is to give PM Harper a case of beer from their oldest beer maker Yuengling, a Pennsylvania regional brew.

Hockey and Beer is as Canadian as well Bob and Doug Mackenzie. Seriously in this country we don’t make money wagers or cash exchanges for helping one another, here in Canada giving a case of beer is a show of respect, it’s a Canadian traditional pastime we are proud to hand down from generation to generation.

Speaking of great Canadian pastimes our sense of humour is never past tense but always present and truly enjoy when other’s around the world, laugh with us.

William Shatner, Catherine O’Hara and Michael J. Fox showed us in their quirky ways how we keep our hearts warm on those bitterly cold winter days, and with laughter being the best medicine, you’d think we wouldn’t have a strain on our healthcare system.

So to all my fellow Canadians, if we’ve come out of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics with a better understanding of what we need more of as a country I’d say patriotism and more laughter in our day, after all Canada does have the most square foot of awesomeness then any other nation on the planet!

Well maybe I’m a bit biased with that commercial quote but then again judge for yourself with some funny commercials, a twosome of Canadian history that oozes with pure Canadian patriotism and clean Canadian humour, and as the old saying goes, imitation is the highest form of flattery, I’d say these two Rednecks hit the flattery right on the old nail. Check out this very funny videos to start off your Monday with a smile, because hey we’re Canadian and we’ll do anything just for some shits and giggles.
