Last year, University of Utah student Tim DeChristopher disrupted an oil and gas land auction in order to allay further climate change. Now he faces trial and ten years in prison. It’s time for us to descend on Salt Lake and tell the world:
“Put the polluters on trial, not the planet!”
An Activist Hero Needs Our Help
On March 15-18, join concerned citizens and activists alike–from around the country–for a mass convergence around Tim’s trial. While Tim is inside being tried, we will be outside making direct and clear statements that The People are taking the fate the climate into our own hands, and not leaving it in the hands of big business.
The site shown above has a piece co-written by Naomi Klein, author of #1 NYT bestseller The Shock Doctrine, Terry Tempest Williams, world renowned wildlife author, Bill McKibben, founder of 350.org and author of The End Of Nature, and Dr. James Hansen, author of Storms of my Grandchildren, and who is regarded as the world’s leading climatologist. Please, please read it and do what you can to help!
For those of you who are avowed pacifists, this was a brilliantly pacifistic action — brilliant and brave. Please stand with Timothy and others on this!
