I wanted to share with you this morning an exciting opportunity for youth and youth service providers in the Niagara Region. The Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth is wanting to meet with young people and service providers to better understand the diverse needs and desires we have in this region. In celebration of National Child Day, and the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (which is on the 20th of November), the Advocate (Irwin Elman) and his team are coming to Niagara on November 16th to listen and learn from young people and adults alike.
What they hear from this meeting will help shape the future role and direction of the Advocate’s office in the region, and will provide the opportunity for young people and service providers alike to share their experiences and ideas directly with him.
What: 4 Question Forum hosted by the Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth
Where: 129 Church Street, St. Catharines (YMCA Employment Offices)
When: November 16th, 3:30 pm to 6:00pm
Pizza will be provided, and all youth will receive $25.00 for participating. Please RSVP to myself either by phone (number below) or by return email with numbers anytime before the 16th. If transportation is an issue, please let me know and we will try to work something out.
Thanks to the YMCA of St. Catharines for providing space for this event!
Hope to see you there!
Best,
Stephanie
